MILAZZO (ME) - THE MAGICAL MEETING OF FINANCE, CULTURE AND FASHION

“Luxury and Vision” was the event where financial consultancy, iconic arts, poetry, and fashion came together to develop a credible plan for economic, educational, and moral growth in a region increasingly plagued by depopulation and unemployment.

The initiative was led by Francesco Caragliano, a personal financial advisor at Fineco Bank. The event took place at the "Medusa" beach club on the western seafront of Milazzo. It was a magnificent evening, during which attendees highly appreciated Caragliano’s expertise. He outlined future economic prospects and possible actions to take in order to avoid hardship in the face of negative economic conditions.

Also featured were: the goldsmithing art of Nicolò Mazzeo; the perfume creations of Sikelia Parfums; the paintings of Maria Teresa Giunta; and the poetry of Attilio Andriolo.

However, the highlight of the evening was the presentation of the genderless clothing collection — generally casual garments wearable by both men and women — along with previews for the autumn/winter season. Especially noteworthy for the women’s line were the vibrant evening dresses adorned with shimmering sequins, perfect for a romantic night under the stars, created by designers Viola Lo Duca, Jennifer Piazza, and Erika Giordano — representatives of the fashion house Homi Too.

This was not a traditional runway show, but a collective ritual: Homi Too aimed to reflect reality through a mirror and give form to that vital need for healing — a need that runs through fashion, the world, and each of us.

It wasn’t just a fashion show, but an intimate mise-en-scène, reserved for a select few — a compendium of archetypes that becomes personal. Each look was more than just an outfit: it was an emblem that inhabits us, speaks to us, and challenges us to identify our inner family tree.

The transformation from traditional fashion show to narrative and metaphorical performance became a sign of how fashion can connect with the soul. Every image turned into a piece of an emotional mosaic, not intended merely to sell an outfit, but to evoke deep connections between past, present, and future.

Their fashion intersects with psychology: it’s no surprise that Viola Lo Duca, Erika Giordano, and Jennifer Piazza choose to diversify through memory, belonging, and irony — deconstructing and reconstructing with a psychoanalytic intent, relying on clear forms that reveal self-expression and personal growth day after day.

“We are truly proud and honored to represent our brand Homi Too at such a special event, because it means our message is starting to spread, and above all, we’ve managed to pass on vitality, color, and identity,” said an enthusiastic Viola Lo Duca.

“Homi Too is a brand born in Milazzo, founded by three passionate, energetic women with a desire to make ourselves known first in our local area, and then beyond. It’s a young, lively, and unconventional project. Each of our pieces blooms from an idea, from the ambition to say something, to communicate identity.

We wanted to create something that spoke about us, our feelings, and also the people around us. Place is everything: Milazzo, Sicily, our friends, our families were the first to believe in us when Homi Too was just an idea, and they continue to support us every day, encouraging us to dream big and turn those dreams into reality.

When we announced we would participate with a fashion show and were looking for models in the area, we were met with great enthusiasm: many local young men and women quickly responded to our call and volunteered to model for us.

It wasn’t just a runway show; it was a moment of connection, exchange, and new relationships. We met amazing people, shared experiences and smiles, and it was an important milestone in our human and professional journey.

Today’s was our second runway show: the first took place in New York — an incredible experience. But to present our work for the first time in our hometown has a very special flavor — much more intimate and personal.”*

Echoing this sentiment was Jennifer Piazza:

*“Color variety is a part of all our collections. The upcoming autumn/winter line is inspired by the dream world, with some garments painted by Viola to reflect a rare uniqueness. Our goal is to experience a colorful winter, breaking free from the monotony of dull gray days.

Our collaborative effort is well-balanced, without overshadowing one another, because we deeply respect each other. We’ve used garments that are both warm and cozy to cater to those who want to dress casually and those who prefer elegance.”*

Erika Giordano was very moved by the event’s success:

*“I’ve found great harmony with the girls; there’s a tremendous connection between us — like we complete each other — and an immense determination to always start anew. Thanks to them, my dream came true.

I used to feel inadequate, but through empathy, I was able to overcome my anxieties and fears. We are driven by positive values. Today, there is so much chaos, especially among younger generations; yet I am convinced that past styles are returning, and from their fusion, new wearable ideas will emerge.

This is indeed a moment when vintage is back in fashion. People are looking for clothes that must quickly adapt to changing weather conditions and personal needs — and in this regard, artificial intelligence is proving to be decisive.

Some have called us influencers, but we try to be that in moderation, preferring to always remain true to ourselves. We have many other innovative visions, because ideas never stop flowing: I wake up in the morning, reflect deeply, and together with Viola and Jennifer, we’re an explosion of creativity.

A good idea must always find proper realization, because the world of fashion will never stop.”*

If fashion often gets lost in noise and superficiality, Homi Too’s second collection reminds us that every garment carries a story, that every new piece has its reason for being, that every gesture can be an act of love.

It is enough to welcome and to be welcomed — a test of essence for the designers, who clearly affirm that fashion can still touch the soul, if it dares to look both inside and out, and chooses to heal rather than just decorate.
